About
I have a background in biomedical engineering (MSc, University of Coimbra, Portugal, 2016) and during my PhD (Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, Portugal, 2022) I focused on deep learning methods for WSI analysis using only a few annotations and weak supervision, for breast, colorectal and cervical cancer diagnosis.
In January 2023, I joined the NKI as a postdoctoral researcher within Hugo Horlings and Marleen Kok groups, where my research has been centred on the intersection of AI and Pathology, particularly to identify biomarkers to better predict immunotherapy response.
I'm also part of the Scientific Committee of the European Society for Digital and Integrative Pathology (ESDIP).
