Immunology
Our research at the intersection of AI and immunology focuses on two main areas: studying how T-cell receptors (TCRs) interact with peptides and the initial steps toward developing personalized cancer vaccines. We use AI models to analyze if TCRs recognize various peptides, a fundamental part of understanding immune responses. In this process, we interpret the aminoacid sequences as a language and use language modeling to understand this language.
Furthermore, in the track toward creating personalized cancer vaccines, many fundamental questions must be answered. We are interested in better understanding the steps from DNA to peptide expression of cells. Currently, we focus primarily on the prediction of open reading frames and better predictions of the proteome.
